Social Growth Through Play, Connection, and Shared Interests

What Are Our Pediatric Clubs?

Pediatric clubs are small, therapist-facilitated sessions where children come together to build important developmental skills through shared play, conversation, and structured activities. At SensAble Kids, our clubs are built around your child’s interests so they stay motivated and engaged.

Each meeting provides opportunities to practice social interactions, problem-solving, collaboration, and emotional awareness in a fun and supportive setting. We offer clubs for children who enjoy Legos, crafts, games, and more.

Can Your Child Benefit from Joining a Pediatric Club?

If your child has any of the following challenges, they may benefit from joining one of our pediatric clubs:

  • Difficulty making or keeping friends
  • Trouble understanding social cues or personal space
  • Anxiety in group settings or during transitions
  • Struggles with flexible thinking or sharing
  • Challenges working collaboratively with peers
  • Trouble managing big emotions or frustration
  • Avoids new experiences or group play

Our groups are designed to complement our individual therapy services. If you’re looking for one-on-one support, explore our Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Developmental Therapy programs.

Philosophy at SensAble Kids

Our Treatment Philosophy at SensAble Kids

At SensAble Kids, we believe that children learn best through relationships, play, and shared experiences. Our pediatric clubs are guided by each child’s developmental level, interests, and social-emotional needs.

We focus on creating safe, engaging environments where kids can practice new skills without pressure. Our therapists work closely with families to provide feedback and ensure that growth continues outside the therapy room.

What Can Your Child Learn in Our Pediatric Clubs?

Our pediatric clubs help children grow in practical, everyday ways that carry over into home, school, and social life. Your child can build skills like:

  • Cooperation and teamwork
  • Social communication and conversation skills
  • Turn-taking and patience
  • Emotional regulation and coping strategies
  • Flexible thinking and problem-solving
  • Self-advocacy and confidence in groups
  • Independence in group routines and expectations

We Also Offer Smaller Group Therapy Session

We do offer smaller groups called dyads where two children are paired together. These sessions are co-led by two therapists and are tailored to help children practice social interaction in a focused, supportive setting. Dyads are especially beneficial for children who need more guidance and support in peer interactions but may not yet be ready for a larger group environment.

Therapists carefully match children based on developmental level, communication style, and therapy goals to create a successful pairing. In each session, children engage in shared play, collaborative problem-solving, and guided peer communication to build confidence, flexibility, and social awareness.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Pediatric Clubs

What kinds of activities are included in the clubs?

Our groups are built around kids’ interests, like building with Legos, doing arts and crafts, playing games, or sharing snacks. These activities are used as a framework for practicing important social, emotional, and problem-solving skills in a natural and enjoyable way.

Are these clubs group therapy, or a playdate?

These clubs are more like playdates, but they are run by our expert pediatric therapists. We use play and children’s interests as the foundation for learning important developmental and social-emotional skills.

Does insurance cover the cost of these clubs?

Our interest-based clubs are out-of-pocket and not billed through insurance. Dyads, on the other hand, are typically covered by insurance because they are considered part of an individual therapy plan. To inquire about setting up a dyad for your child, please contact us through our online inquiry form.

Are parents involved during the club activities?

These clubs are typically drop-off activities to give children the opportunity to have fun with their peers. We do stay in close communication with parents and provide guidance to support skill carryover at home.

How often do groups meet?

Clubs meet once per week on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 5:30, though the day and time are subject to change. Specific activities for each club rotate weekly. Dyads meet once per week together.
